KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- Former doubles specialist Razif Sidek's offer to help Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) High Performance director Datuk James Selvaraj is expected to be discussed in the BAM Coaching & Technical committee meeting on Saturday.

James Selvaraj said so far Razif has not send any official letter to the BAM and it has only been an informal offer made by him to the media.

Without committing whether he wanted Razif to assist him or not, James Selvaraj said he would issue a statement after the meeting on Saturday.

"This is not for me to say or decide. I will wait until the meeting on Saturday to know the status," he told Bernama today.

Last Tuesday, a local daily had reported that Razif was ready to assist the BAM on an advisory role in the aspect of coaching, especially the doubles, voluntarily.

Razif who had served as national coach from 1994 to 1996, and his brother Jailani Sidek had formed a formidable partnership in the 1980s and 1990s to win numerous titles.

The duo were also part of the 1992 Thomas Cup winning Malaysian team and had won a bronze medal in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
